Ok, I admit. They were supposed to be scones, but they didn't rise too much... So they're potato rolls. I must admit, however, that, scones or rolls, they're just great! Serve them with a soup or just treat them as a simple snack.
Bułeczki ziemniaczane
(na podstawie "The great British farmhouse cookbook" Sarah Mayor)
Składniki (ok. 6-7 bułeczek)
100 g ziemniaków
175 g mąki
1 łyżka proszku do pieczenia
50 g zimnego masła
60 ml mleka
szczypta soli
Przygotowanie
Ziemniaki ugotować w osolonej wodzie, zgnieść na puree i odstawić do ostygnięcia.
Piekarnik nagrzać do 220 st. C.
Do miski przesiać mąkę i proszek do pieczenia. Dodać sól i masło i rozrobić między palcami aż do powstania kruszonki. Dodać ziemniaki i szybko wyrobić ciasto. Na koniec dodać mleko i szybko wyrobić do powstania gładkiego ciasta.
Ciasto wyłożyć na stolnicę oprószoną mąką i rozwałkować na placek o grubości 2 cm. Wyciąć kółka i przełożyć na blachę wyłożoną papierem do pieczenia.
Wstawić do piekarnika i piec ok. 10 min. aż bułeczki nabiorą złotego koloru.
Wyjąć z piekarnika i ostudzić.

Potato rolls
(based on "The great British farmhouse cookbook" Sarah Mayor)
Ingredients (serves 6-7 rolls)
100 g potatoes
175 g flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
50 g cold butter
60 ml milk
pinch of salt
Method
Cook the potatoes in salted water, then crush to puree and set aside to cool.
Preheat the oven to 220°C.
Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Add salt and butter and knead with your fingers until crumbled. Add the potatoes and quickly knead the dough. Finally add the milk and quickly knead till a smooth dough.
Put dough on floured pastry board and roll to about 2 cm-thick rectangle. Cut out the circles and put on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Put in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from oven and cool.
Enjoy!
